Stucco
Stucco is a material used for building construction, primarily as a decorative and protective coating for walls and ceilings.
It is a type of plaster made from cement, sand, and lime, which can be applied to surfaces like concrete, brick, or wood. Stucco is commonly used on the exterior of buildings due to its durability, weather resistance, and aesthetic appeal. We understand that the siding on your home is crucial not only for aesthetic purposes, but also in order to protect the structure of your home. Our goal is to help protect the things that matter most to you: your family and your home. With Pristine Construction, you’ll know that your children, pets, and loved ones will be safe throughout the entire project, giving you peace of mind. Types of Stucco:
Traditional Stucco:
Made from a mix of Portland cement, sand, and water, often applied in multiple layers (typically three coats). It’s breathable, which allows moisture to escape and helps prevent damage.
Synthetic Stucco (EIFS):
Also known as Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems, this version uses a foam insulation board and a synthetic finish. It’s more energy-efficient but may be prone to moisture issues if not installed correctly.
Benefits of Stucco:
Durability:
It can last decades if properly maintained.
Low maintenance:
Resistant to fire, rot, and insects.
Energy-efficient:
Offers some insulation properties, especially when combined with EIFS.
Customizable finish:
Can be tinted in different colors and textured in various ways, allowing for design flexibility.
